    • SWANIGA, Carl August - Of Dunbar Manor, Cambridge on Monday, April 24, 1995 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Jane Scott (1991); dear brother of Erma Beaver of Cambridge. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father and five brothers, Henry, Paul, Andrew, Hans and Eric. Mr. Swaniga was born in Dusseldorf, Germany and has been a resident of Cambridge since 1922. He was a part-time resident of Margate, Florida, U.S.A. and was a retired Chef with Westinghouse. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Hespeler Branch #272 and the Local Chapter of the Hespeler Odd Fellows where he served in both organization for over 50 years, and was a W.W. II Veteran serving overseas in the Canadian Army. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 27, 1995 at 11 :00 a.m., with Pastor Wendell Grahlman officiating. Interment to follow in New Hope Cemetery. A Legion Service under the Auspices of The Royal Canadian Legion Hespeler Branch #272 will be held at the Funeral Horne on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., to be followed by an I.O.O.F. Service (Hespeler Lodge #32) at 7:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Kitchener Waterloo District Chapter, P.O. Box 2151, Station B, Kitchener, Ontario, N2H 6M1 would be appreciated by the family.
