Notes |
- Jacob S. Brenneman - There passed away at his home on Friday, November 4th, a well-known and lifelong resident of this community in the person of Mr. Jacob S. Brenneman, at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 14 days. He had been confined to the house only a few weeks. His demise was a shock to a wide circle of friends, who did not know of his illness. The deceased was a son of the late Joseph Brenneman and was born on the adjoining farm, now occupied by his son, Ezra. He was a kind friend and neighbor and a faithful adherent of Steinman's A.M. Church. He leaves his sorrowing widow, who before her marriage was Mary Steinman, and a family of three sons and one daughter, namely, Ezra, on the homestead, Edwin and Noah, at home, and Mrs. Elam Roth, of Cassel, also two brothers and three sisters, who are Joseph, of Haysville, Daniel of Cassel, Mrs. Chr. Steinman, Bleams Road, Mrs. John E. Schwartzentruber, New Hamburg, and Mrs. Menno L. Schultz, of Thurman, Colorado.
The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from his late home on the Haysville Road to the Steinman A.M. Church, where the funeral service was held, interment being made in the Steinman Cemetery. A very large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends formed the funeral procession. The bereaved family have their sympathy of their many friends in their sorrow.
