  Henry Steiner, 72, of 84 Fairview Ave., died suddenly today at his home. Born in Wilmot Township April 16, 1880, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Steiner He was an engineer and maintenance man. Mr. Steiner was a member of St Matthew's Lutheran Church, a member of the Men's Brotherhood a member of the church council for eight years, a member of the choir since 1920 and was a Sunday School teacher for years. Surviving is his widow, the former Hedwig Heldman, whom he married at Kitchener Sept. 28, 1940. His first wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Schmidt, died in Oct. 14, 1937. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Maria) Verch, Galt; Mrs. R. C. (Valeria) Garlick, Tor- onto: two brothers, Jerry, Malachi, Ont. George, New Hamburg; and a sister: Mrs. Henry (Katherine) Cress, St. Jacobs. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. John Schmieder, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
