Death of John Dickie of Puslinch
Intelligence has just reached us of the death of Mr. Dickie of Puslinch, on Thursday morning at 9, April 26, 1888, one of its oldest and most respected residents, aged 74 years. He was a resident of Puslinch for over fifty years and went through all the vicissitudes of the early pioneer life. He leaves a family of three sons and two daughters: William Dickie, residing on the homestead; John Dickie of Virden, Manitoba; Robert Dickie of Oregon; Mrs. Robert Gibson of Virden, MN; and Miss Elizabeth residing on the homestead. His family were all present at the time of his death. Mr. Dickie was an elder of Hespeler Presbyterian Church from its establishment. Funeral on Saturday at 2 to Hespeler Cemetery.
