  • Notes
    • John W. Honderich, a resident of Baden for many years, passed away at the home of his son in Toronto on Sunday in his 71st year. Born in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian R. Honderich, he was a direct descendant of John Honderich, who was the first white male child born in Wilmot township. Mr. Honderich was a printer by trade and in 1913 launched a weekly newspaper, The Baden Star, which he published in Baden for about two years. Prior to moving to Toronto, he had lived in Kitchener. His wife, the former Rae Laura Armstrong, predeceased him 10 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Rev. Loine Honderich of Miami, Florida; Beland Honderich, financial editor of the Toronto Star, and Edgar, of Toronto, and two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. E. V. Spielberg), Toronto, and Mary (Mrs. Rev. Roy Treganza) of Witchita, Kansas. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon with service at the Trull Funeral Home and interment was in York Cemetery.
