  • Notes
    • Death of Valentine Alles - The death occurred at his home near Bleam's Road, two miles east of this town, during Tuesday night of Mr. Valentine Alles, at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 9 days. Mr. Alles had only been ill for a few days with an attack of pneumonia and the news of his passing came as a distinct shock to his wide circle of friends. The deceased was born near Tavistock, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Alles. He was married about twenty-five years ago to Miss Catharine Zoeller, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Zoeller, and since then had resided on the farm. He was a quiet but kindly disposition and was a member of the local Trinity Lutheran Church. One daughter predeceased him, but he leaves his sorrowing widow, one son, Arthur, and two daughters, Elsie and Alice, all at home, to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Berg, of Laird, Sask. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home to Trinity Lutheran Church and Riverside Cemetery. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all in their sad loss.
