  As a little girl, seven or eight years old, Barbara had diptheria, and she and her mother were quarantined in the bedroom for quite a long time. Her grandfather used to come outside the window, and her mother would open it, and her grandfather would pray for her. Her youngest brother Ezra slipped into the bedroom one time and did get a touch of diptheria but not as serious. The Michael B. Yantzi, family history and genealogy 1823-1991 by Jamie Yantzi __________________________ Schwartzentruber, Barbara, daughter of Michael and Barbara (Ruby) Jantzi, was born March 31, 1884, at Tavistock, Ont.; died Nov. 26, 1959, at St Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont.; aged 75 y. 7 m. 26 d. She was married on Jan. 3, 1918, to Joseph B. Schwartzentruber, who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons and one daughter (Lester and Omar, Petersburg, Ont.; Lloyd and Ray, Waterloo; and Edith--Mrs. Melvin Erb, Petersburg), 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Jacob and Christ, Tavistock; and Noah, Shakespeare), and 3 sisters (Mrs. Solomon Streicher and Mrs. Menno Ropp, Tavistock; and Mrs. David Brenneman, Hickson). She was a member of the St. Agatha A. M. Church, where memorial services were held Nov. 29, in charge of Orland Gingerich and Peter Nafziger.
