  Yantzi, Noah R., son of Michael and Barbara (Ruby) Yantzi, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., Nov. 15, 1892; died at Shakespeare, Ont., June 15, 1971; aged 78 y. 7 m. On Dec. 17, 1925, he was married to Lena Zehr, who preceded him in death May 26, 1966. Surviving are 4 sons (LaVerne, Sylvester, Elwood, and Wayne), 6 daughters (Sabina - Mrs. Jack Randall, Laurene - Mrs. Vernon Bender, Erma - Mrs. William Flatt, Rita - Mrs. William Schmiat, Freda - Mrs. Harold Schwartzentruber, and Marlene - Mrs. Roy Ziegler), 29 grandchildren, and one brother (Jacob). One son (Ernest) preceded him in death. He was a member of the East Zorra Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held June 18, in charge of Newton L. Gingrich; interment in the adjoining cemetery. Gospel Herald - Volume LXIV, Number 27 - July 6, 1971 - pp 611, 612 _____________ Noah R. Yantzi, R.R. 1 Shakespeare, died suddenly at his residence Tuesday. He was 78 and was born in East Zorra Township Nov. 15, 1892, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Yantzi. He had been a resident of South Easthope Township for many years and was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line. His wife, the former Lena Zehr died in 1966. Surviving are four sons, Laverne, R.R. 1 Tavistock; Sylvester, Baden; Elwood, Kitchener, and Wayne, R.R. 1 Shakespeare; six daughters Mrs. Jack (Sabina) Randall, Mrs. Vernon (Lorene) Bender, and Mrs. William (Ema) Flatt, all of Preston; Mrs. Harold (Freida) Schwartzentruber, R.R. 1 Stratford; Mrs. William (Reta) Schmidt, R.R. 1 Milverton, and Mrs. Roy (Marlene) Ziegler, R.R. 1 St. Agatha; one brother Jacob, R.R. 1 Tavistock. There are 29 grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, five sisters and one granddaughter. The body rested at the Robert Krug funeral home until Friday when removal was made to the East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line for service at 10:30 a.m. Burial followed in the cemetery adjoining the church. Rev. Newton Gingerich officiated.
