- Elmer H. Bier
Elmer H. Bier of 234 Waterloo St., New Hamburg, died on Thursday of last week at his home at the age of 77.
Born Feb. 20, 1892 in Wilmot Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bier and had lived in New Hamburg for 45 years. He had been retired for the past eight years and was a member of Zion United Church.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Edna Seegmiller whom he married 52 years ago, are one son, Glenn, Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Jean) Morrison, Napanee, and Mrs. Charles (Leila) Sawyers, Tilbury; one sister, Mrs. Wesley (Alberta) Wolfe, RR 2, Baden, and five grandsons.
He was predeceased by one son, Nyle, killed in action in The Second World War.
Funeral services were held at Zion United church on Monday, Rev. J.B. Moore officiating.
Temporary entombment took place in the Graff Memorial Chapel at Riverside cemetery.
The Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
