      Alfred E. Kerr Obituary.

Mr. Alfred E. Kerr, who was a well known Wilmot Township farmer and a member of that township's municipal council until his retirement last December, passed away at his home on the Huron road on Monday night. Mr. Kerr had been in failing health For the past two and a half years and because of it had to relinquish his duties on the council after serving for over twenty years but his death came very unexpectedly. The deceased gentleman was 73 years of age, and a son of the late William and Hannah Illingworth and was born on the farm where he lived his entire life. Besides taking an active interest for so many years in municipal affairs he was also an ardent church worker and was a member of St. James' Anglican Church, Huron Road. His wife, the former May Hewitt, to whom he was married 48 years ago, survives as well as two sons, Oliver Kerr at home and Robert, Sarnia.

Three brothers also survive, William, Lumsden, Sask., Arthur, St. Pauls, Ont. and Walter, on the homestead. One daughter, Annie, predeceased him in 1923 and a brother, James in 1930.

Funeral services were held from his late residence and St. James Anglican Church on Thursday afternoon with interment being in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. W. A. Jones, rector of St. George's Church, New Hamburg, had Charge of these services.
