Notes |
- A sad event at a hockey game at the local rink ended with the death of 26-year-old Emanuel Helmuth, spectator at the game. He was leaning over the boards when two players fell in front of him. One player landed on his back with his legs in the air, and his skate caught the neck of Helmuth,... severing his jugular and windpipe. Although Dr. Anderson was close by and attended the man almost immediately, nothing could be done and the unfortunate man died within minutes without speaking. Few spectators and none of the players knew of the incident until after the game ended.
