  John J. Baumann, "the eldest son of Samuel W. Baumann, was born in Waterloo, June 14th, 1835. He resides between Dundas and Hamilton, near Bamberger's hotel, where he is engaged in farming. He is married to Lizzie U. Binkley. Their family consists of six children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
