    • LATE ANDREW DRYDEN, SR. We very much regret to announce this week the death of Mr. Andrew Dryden, Sr., of North Dumfries. Mr. Dryden took ill while in Galt on Saturday, the 11th inst. On getting home he found his illness increasing and medical aid being obtained it was found that he was suffering from inflammation of the lungs. The disease ran its course until Tuesday morning last, when death resulted. Mr. Dryden was widely known and very much respected in this locality, and has left many friends who will very much regret him. He was one of a family of nine brothers and sisters, six of whom yet survive him here. His brothers Robert and John are dead - Robert died some years ago, John during last year - and there are still left, Mrs. Rae, Thomas, Mrs. Jas. Brown, William, James and Walter K. The family came to Canada in 1834, both parents being then living, but after a few years residence here the father died, being followed some years afterwards by the mother. Hard working and industrious, the family has made its mark in the section in which they settled, and the smiling fields and comfortable homesteads attest most truly the labor of former years. Mr. Dryden was buried yesterday, (Thursday) afternoon, the respect in which he was held being attested by the large number who followed his remains to their last resting place.
