      WELLESLEY - Jacob Lotz, 86, of Wellesley, father of Rev. A.W. Lotz, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener, died Sunday night at his residence after an illness of four months. He was born Dec. 6, 1867, in North Easthope township. He was a feed and seed merchant in the town for 21 years before his retirement in 1947. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellesley he served for 40 years on the church board and was Sunday school superintendent for 15 years.

      His marriage to Catherine Wettlaufer who predeceased him in 1931, took place in Philipsburg, Feb. 26, 1889.

      Surviving, besides Rev. Mr. Lotz, are two daughters, Mrs. Ezra (Oliva) Hoffman of Wellesley and Miss Hilda at home; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Six brothers and three sisters predeceased him.
      Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday with a short service at the home at 2 p.m. and a memorial service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Huras will officiate. The body is at the home.
