- Jacob W. Jantzi, 56, Wellesley, died on June 15th after a short illness. Born in Wilmot Township in 1892, he farmed in that area and was rural mail carrier for 23 years. He was a member of Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Surviving are his father, John Jantzi, and his stepmother. His mother, the former Mattie Wagler, died in 1907. Also surviving are his wife, the former Katie Albrecht; one son, Alvin, Wellesley; one daughter, Susanna, at home; three brothers, Noah, of Bamberg, John and David of Wilmot Township; six sisters, Mrs. Christian (Barbara) Albrecht, of Vero Beach, Florida, Mrs. Jacob (Lydia) Albrecht, of Crosshill, Mrs. David (Katie) Nafziger, of R.R. 2, Milverton, Mrs. David (Mattie) Zehr of Crosshill, Mrs. David (Elizabeth) Roes and Mrs. Enoch (Sara) Horst, of Millbank. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at his residence on Saturday morning followed by church service at 10 o'clock at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Mose Nafziger officiated at the church and Rev. Samuel Roth, Wellesley, officiated at the house. The pallbearers were Ervin Nafziger, Clarence Miller Emanuel Albrecht, Aaron Jantzi, William Albrecht and David Jantzi. The funeral, which was one of the largest in the district, was attended with relatives and friends from Vero, Florida; Bay Port, Mich.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Kitchener, Baden, New Hamburg, Crosshill, Milverton and the surround district.
