- DIEBEL, Pearl passed away peacefully, at Sunnyside Nursing Home, on Monday, July 24, 2000, in her 86th year. Pearl was a daughter of the late David and Lydia (Bast) Miller and was a member of Highland Road Baptist Church. Pearl (Nee Miller), beloved wife of the late Albert Diebel (1987). Loving mother of Elain Bretz and her late husband Murray Bretz (1995) and Paul Diebel and his wife Pat; also loved by her grandchildren, Deb, Cheryl, Tim, Scott, Todd and Pam and her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Nicholas. Missed by her sisters-in-law, Pearl Miller of Baden, Fran Holtzhauer and Doris Miller, both of Kitchener; a brother-in-law, Hubert Schmidt of St. Mary's and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Grant, Earl, Harry and his wife Eunice, Laverne and Bernel; sisters, Genevieve Schmidt, Mabel and her husband Clayton Binkle, Verna and her husband Howard Hesse. Friends will be received at the Westmount Funeral Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service at Highland Road Baptist Church, 135 Highland Rd. W., on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
