- Eli Boshart Rites Set
LOWVILLE - The funeral for Eli Boshart, 85, Castorland, who died Monday at home, will be Thursday at 1 p.m., at the Virkler Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. in the Naumburg Conservative Mennonite Church, Richard Zehr and Elmer Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edwina Boshart; three sons by his first marriage, Clayton and William, Watertown, Lloyd, Lowville; six children by his second marriage, Edgar in Iowa, Gloria in Florida, Sanford. in Louisana, Brenda, David and Glen, at home; a brother Henry, St. Jacobs, Ont., 16 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren. Born at Baden Ont., Dec. 19, 1888. a son of David and Mary Schumm Boshart, he had resided at Castorland 47 years. He was foreman at the Climax Manufacturing Company from 1943 to 1966 and prior to that, operated a farm and milk route at Great Bend from 1927 to 1941. On Dec. 29. 1909, he married Katie Kennel. She died May 1, 1947. 0n Sept. 16 1948, he married Edwina Noftsier in the Lowville Mennonite Church with Chris Noftsier officiating.
