    • The present brick edifice was constructed in 1929 by Conrad Forler, assisted by members of the congregation, at a cost of $15,000. The pipe organ, installed in the original church in 1887 at a cost of $800, was moved over into the new church. Mrs. Eva Ehrat, the contractor's daughter, is the church organist, a position she has held for the past 37 years.

    • PHILIPSBURG, March 26 - Conrad L. Forler, 77, died at his home here today after an illness of two years.

      Born July 9, 1874, at Philipsburg he was a son of the late Philip Forler and the former Catherine Lantz. Mr. Forler's wife, the former Ella Doering, died in 1928.

      Mr. Forler attended Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters.

      Surviving are two sons, Clarence and Theodore, Philipsburg; two daughters, Mrs. John (Eva) Ehrat, at home; Mrs. John (Elmeda) Lew, New Hamburg; two brothers, Henry Forler, Mannheim; Philip Forler, Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. J. K. (Catherine) Smith, Kitchener; and eight grandchildren.

      The body is at the Futher-Omand funeral Home, New Hamburg, where a private service will be held Thursday at 2 pm, followed by a memorial service at Zion Lutheran Church at 2: 45, conducted by Rev. Gerhardt Wuerscher. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
