- David Devitt, "was born August 12th, 1839. He was married to Louisa Krauser with whom he had three children, Albert, Mary, and Florence. After the decease of his first wife he was married to Theresa Weigel with whom he had three children, Mabel, Jacob, and Humane. His second wife died some time ago. At present he resides in Berlin and is engaged as a travelling agent for different wholesale manufacturing companies."

WELL KNOWN BERLIN CITIZEN DIED IN BUFFALO
The news was received in the city Friday morning of the death of a well- known Berlin citizen, David Devitt. which took place in Buffalo Thursday night. The deceased has been in poor health for some months and while visiting his daughter, Mrs. Riehl, in Buffalo, took seriously ill two months ago. The late Mr. Devitt was born on August 12th, 1839, and was in his 76th year. He has lived in Waterloo County the greater portion of his life. He was twice married and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Riehl, Buffalo, and Miss Florence Devitt, of the Victoria School staff. Mr. Menno Devitt, of Waterloo, is a brother of the deceased. The remains arrived at Berlin station on Sunday afternoon where a brief funeral service was held, Interment took place in the Mount Hope cemetery.
