  • Notes
    • Victoria Ward was either born in Virginia or Canada, about 1849 (see Notes below). She may have been the daughter of slaves in Virginia, who later escaped to Canada.

Victoria married William Alfred Susand(t) in 1867. They had at least one child.

William and Victoria came to America from Canada about 1867, marrying in Mississippi, and settled first in Michigan, then later California, and finally Seattle, Washington.

Victoria worked as a hairdresser, and later a dressmaker.

In 1900, a few months after the death of her husband, she was seriously injured when two street cars collided head-on, near the Front St. cable line.

She passed away in 1916, and is buried in Lake View Cemetery, Seattle, King County, Washington, USA.
