- HANEY, JOSEPH
Of 72 Rife Ave. in Hespeler, on Sunday, April 7, 1968, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital in Galt, in his 72nd year. He had been ill only one day. Born in Puslinch Township on June 7, 1896, he was a son of the late James Haney and Martha Murnahan. He worked on threshing crews for the Paddocks throughout the township for many years and moved from the farm in 1962. Since then, he worked at Dominion Woollens and later at Artex Woolens. He retired from the latter firm in 1965. He was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation Church and of the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Freda Neubauer; one son, James of Hespeler; one daughter, Catherine (Mrs. Richard B. McMillan) of R. R. #2, Hespeler; and nine grandchildren. A daughter, Theresa, predeceased him in 1964. St. Mary of the Visitation Church for requiem mass at 9 on Wednesday. Celebrant was Father D. D. Simpson, pastor of the church. Numerous floral and spiritual tributes were received and the funeral was largely attended. Pallbearers: Patrick McLaughlin, William Murnahan, James MacGillivray, William Machin, Harold McLean and Frank Paddock. Interment in St. Mary of the Visitation Cemetery. O'Brien Funeral Home.
