Notes |
- John Martin, "the sixth son of Peter and Anna (Zimmerman) Martin, was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, December 20th, 1806. In the year 1819, he came to Canada with his parents. On February 16th, 1830, he was married to Anna, daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (Cressman) Weber. She was born in Berlin, Waterloo County, August 14th, 1811. After their marriage they moved on their farm situated in Woolwich Township, about three miles north of Waterloo. Here they resided until 1857, then moved on the farm now possessed by their son, Enos. Here he died November 20th, 1879. She is still living and is quite strong and active for a person of such an age. Her home is with her son Enos. Mr. Martin had a family of twelve children"
Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
