Notes |
- Heart Attack Fatal To Harry Kohli
The town was shocked last evening to hear of the sudden death of Harry Kohli, well-known and popular Hespeler man. The late Mr. Kohli died as the result of a heart seizure about eight o'clock. With his brother Arthur, the late Mr. Kohli, had driven to the home of Robert Kohli, to drive him to the home of another brother, Fred Kohli, for their usual Wednesday evening bridge game. He had gone to the George and Elgin street intersection to turn his car around preparatory to stopping at Robert's home, when the sudden heart attack took his life. Doctors were called but the man had passed away before medical aid reached him. Born in Hespeler, the son of the late Mr. and and Mrs. John Kohli, the late Harry Kohli was a resident of Hespeler, for all but a year of his life, during which time he attended a school in Detroit. As a young man he entered the employ of the R. Forbes Company and shortly after that plant was taken over by the Dominion Woollens and Worsteds, he became superintendent of the cloth section. He was a member of the Masonic and Oddfellow Lodges here. The late Mr. Kohli was in his 48th year, was married at Detroit to Miss Alice Hodges. Mrs. Kohli, with one daughter, Catherine, survives. Also surviving are six brothers, Fred, Robert, Arthur, Herbert and Edward, all of Hespeler, and Capt. Frank of the Canadian Dental Corps and two sisters, Margaret Mrs. E. McLarty of Hespeler and Mary Mrs. Johnston of Hamilton. The funeral, under Masonic auspices, is to be held on Saturday afternoon, from his late residence on Maple street. Rev. T. G. Marshall of St. Andrew's Presbyterian church, with which he was identified, will conduct the service. Interment will be made in Hespeler cemetery.
