    • GILCHRIST, ELIZABETH

      Miss Gilchrist, a life-long resident of this district, on Monday, February 19, 1951, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Robert Galbraith of Mount Forest, where she was visiting. Miss Gilchrist was born 85 years ago in Killean, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Gilchrist, pioneer residents of Puslinch. She taught school at the Hespeler Public School for eighteen years between 1889 and 1907, when she retired. After the death of her father, Miss Gilchrist and her mother lived on Cooper St. in Hespeler, which remained her home. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Galbraith and a cousin, W. A. Gilchrist of Galt. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 from the Stager-Russ Funeral Home in Hespeler. Interment took place in Killean Cemetery. Rev. Earl F. Smith officiated.
