- For the Pioneer woman was here and took a hand. Was first to extend sympathy when someone died. The First to offer aid. In Sickness, sat up nights so the hausfrau could get a rest. Made soups, and puddings and sent them over. Helped the Doctor when a child was born. Performed his normal function, in his absence in addition to her own.

"My Mother helped bring 78 Corktown kids into this world and then lost count.
The "Mother" was Mrs. James Murphy Sr.
