_______________________
Joshua E. Bowman - (By Chronicle Correspondent) - Wallenstein, R.R. 1 - After a short illness there passed away at his home one half-mile west of Wallenstein, Mr. Joshua E. Bowman. The late Mr. Bowman was born near Heidelberg over eighty-two years ago and moved to this locality some fifty years ago, settling on what was known as the Soesser property. Mr. Bowman was the second Mennonite farmer to settle in the district west of Wallenstein in what was then a solid Scotch Settlement and today is solid Mennonite. Mr. Bowman was a successful farmer and a faithful supporter of the Mennonite faith. He is survived by his wife, twelve children, sixty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. One brother Samuel also survives. The funeral which was in charge of Rev. A. B. Bearinger was held on Saturday morning from his late residence to the West Wallenstein Mennonite Church and cemetery for burial as very largely attended. The sympathy of this community is extended to the sorrowing friends and relatives.
