  TILT, John P. - John Tilt died peacefully, at home in Doon, on Monday, December 1, 2008, in his 98th year, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Marie for over 60 years. Lovingly remembered by his children, Charles (Nancy), Bill (Nancy) and Margaret (Ed Schnurr). Dear grandfather of Michael, Leanne (Mark), Andrew, Daniel, Whitney and Margaret. Survived by his brothers, Russell and George; his nieces and nephews; and predeceased by his sisters, Margaret and Sherrie (Moore). John was born, lived and farmed all his years in Doon. He is renowned for his collection of fancy poultry and waterfowl breeds and his faithful participation in many local Fall Fairs. He exhibited his birds at every Poultry Show of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair since its inception. As well, John was a respected poultry judge having presided at many fairs at the local, national and international levels. John enriched his family's life with his devotion, common sense and spirited opinions gained through hard work and determination which were constants in his life right to his final days. John's legacy will live on in his beloved family. Friends may call at the Tilt Homestead, 31 Tilt Dr., Kitchener, on Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Interment to follow at Doon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
