  BAST, Jackie - Jackelyn Audrey "Jackie" Bast, 62, of Tavistock passed away at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was born in Ottawa on January 21, 1948, a daughter of Doris (Graviston) Merner Brown and the late Roland Merner. She had been a Deli Clerk/Manager at the Tavistock Food Market for over 30 years and was a member of Grace United Church in Tavistock. Jackie is survived by her husband, Orval James Bast, whom she married at Tavistock on February 15, 1969; two children, Dr. Darrin Bast and partner Reg Hughson, Shannon Bast and partner Livia Moreira; her mother, Doris Merner Brown; brothers and sisters Thom Brown and partner Barry Wayman, Jessie and husband Pat Pillon, Robert Brown, Mardie Sperko, Mary and husband Gilles Begin; godsister Doreen and husband Bernie Illskins; godbrother Ron and wife Pat Pearson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Keith and Saundra Bast, Ken and Laura Bast and aunt Cavelle Graviston and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Roland Merner; her step father, Robert Brown Sr.; her special grandparents, Ralph and Alberta Graviston; her godparents, Ernie and Audrey Pearson; her brother-in-law, Edward Sperko; her uncle, Wellington Graviston. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock, on Friday from 7-9 p. m. and Saturday from 2-4 p. m. and 7-9 p. m. The funeral service will be held in Grace United Church, Tavistock, on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 2 p. m. The Rev. Marion Jackson Tyler will officiate. Interment in Grace United Cemetery.
