- BROWN, ARTHUR VALENTINE was born at Neustadt on January 18, 1881, a son of Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Brown. He obtained his preliminary education locally and then graduated from Trinity University, Toronto in 1904.
He spent some time as a house doctor in a Winnipeg hospital, and commenced practice at Gretna, South Dakota. He later practised at Medicine Hat, and at Champion, Alberta, and at Nokomis, Saskatchewan.
After taking some postgraduate work at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, he moved to Kitchener in 1927. Here, at 973 King Street W. he conducted a general practice, with special interest in pediatrics.
He died on June 21 1937 in his 57th year, after a short illness. He was survived by a son and a daughter.

DR. A. V. BROWN DIES IN HOSPITAL
Had Been Ill for Ten Days; Was Native of Neustadt
Dr. Arthur Valentine Brown, 973 King street west, prominent Kitchener physician, passed away at the K-W Hospital last evening at seven o'clock in his 57th year. He had been ill for the past ten days suffering from pneumonia.
The deceased was born at Neustadt on January 15, 1881, a son of the late Dr. William Brown and Mrs. Brown. He graduated from the Walkerton High School and entered the Toronto Medical College. For a number of years he was house doctor at the Winnipeg Central Hospital. The late Dr. Brown first practised in Gretna, South Dakota and later at Medicine Hat, Alta., Champion, Alta., Nokomis, Sask., and the Hospital for Sick Children at Toronto. He came to Kitchener in 1927 and opened a general practice, specializing in the treatment of children's diseases.
He was a past master of Nokomis Lodge, A.F. and A.M., a member of Chapter R.A.M. No. 12, Govan, Sask., and Preceptory in Regina, Constable Valetter Preceptory, Kitchener, a member of Wa-Wa Temple, Regina, and secretary of the Waterloo County Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Kitchener Board of Trade.
Surviving are one son, Howard, and one daughter, Marjorie, both of Kitchener, one brother, Dr. Elmer Brown, Neustadt, Ontario. His wife predeceased him in 1931.
Funeral services will be public from the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon at three o'clock to Woodland Cemetery for interment. Rev. Clarke Logan will officiate. The services will be under the auspices of the Twin City Masonic Lodge. Remains will rest at the funeral home.
