      NEW HAMBURG, March 24- The last surviving member of his family, Otto Bettger, 89, died at his home on Jacob St. late yesterday afternoon. He had been in failing health since he fractured his hip 16 months ago. Born in Logan Township, Aug. 25, 1860, he was a son of the late Frederick and Fredericka Bettger. He was married at New Hamburg in June, 1882, to Mary Becker who predeceased him.

      As a young man he learned the trade of cabinet maker and was employed at a local furniture factory for many years.

      Surviving is one son, Milton E. of Monkton and one daughter, Miss Louise at home. Two brothers and one sister predeceased
      him. The body will rest at Becker's Funeral Home until Friday noon when removal will be made to the Baptist Church of which he was a member, for services at 2 p.m. Burial will be made in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Walter B. Fischer, pastor of the church, will officiate.
