- MISS L. S. RABB.
It is perhaps superfluous to say that the subject of dainty millinery is one which lies very close to the feminine heart-or head. Millinery in these days an art and the true milliner is born, not made. That innate taste and skill, that deft touch, which, through a pretty bonnet transforms the plainest face, is possessed by few. But Miss L. S. Rabb must have the gift. She has the only exclusive millinery store in New Hamburg and she does a splendid business. The cosy store with the tasty and inviting back parlor are models of neatness. She has been in New Hamburg eleven years but had secured a valuable knowedge of millinery in Detroit and Cleveland prior to that. Miss Rabb yields the palm to none, big or little, in the matter of natty and fashionable headgear. That she has good reason to take this stand is evidenced by the fact that she is able to draw an ever increasing patronage, not only from the surrounding country but from the large towns round about. She also carries a good line of fancy goods such as stamped linens, fancy collars, belts, etc. She makes a close study of latest modes and no lady can go astray by going to Miss Rabb for her new bonnet.

Miss L. S. Rabb Passes
Death came very unexpectedly to one of New Hamburg's prominent citizens in the person of Miss L. S. Rabb. She had been ill for two weeks but her condition was not considered serious. However she suffered a paralytic stroke last Thursday morning and passed away shortly before six o'clock in the afternoon. The late Miss Rabb was a resident of this town for the past 38 years, carrying on a prosperous millinery business for 35 years from which she retired 3 years ago. She was born in Lexington, near Waterloo on December 21st, 1860, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rabb. Prior to coming to New Hamburg in 1894 she was engaged in the millinery trade at Pontiac, Mich. During her residence in New Hamburg the late Miss Rabb was very active in church and social welfare matters. She was a Methodist in religion but after the close of her church in town she worshipped in St. George's Anglican Church. She was also a valued member of the local Women's Institute. She is survived by three brothers, John of Detroit, and William and Jacob, of Princeton. One brother and three sisters predeceased her. The funeral was held from the home of her niece, Mrs. Herman E. Schultz, to St. George's Church and Riverside cemetery. Rev. Mr. Pogson had charge of the service.
