  	Edgar Beger had the Rexall Drugs franchise in Kitchener and seemed to be running a successful business but within months of this photo he left pharmaceuticals to become a bond salesman. Soon the corner bore a Liggett's Drugstore sign and became a downtown landmark at King and Young from 1929 until the late 1940s. Next to Beger's is the J. Preeter and Son dry goods and ladies wear shop occupying the second of Lippert's King Street storefronts. Its site became part of Liggett's within a year.1a 1arych Mills 2015

  Edgar Beger Dies At Windsor A former resident of New Hamburg, Edgar Edmund Beger, died at Windsor on New Years' Day at the age of 58 years. He had been employed in the accounting department of the Chrysler Corporation of Canada in that city, where he had resided for the past 20 years. Mr. Beger was born in New Hamburg, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. Robert Beger, and spent his boyhood days in this village. He attended the Toronto College of Pharmacy, and graduated as a druggist. For some years he conducted a drug store in Kitchener in partnership with Gordon Schaefer, later moving to Windsor where he was manager of a drug store until eight years ago when he became on employee of the Chrysler Corporation. He leaves his wife, the former Lillian Conrad of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Cyril Patton of Dartmouth, N.S.; Mrs. Thomas Parris of Creighton Mines, Ont., and Miss Joan Beger of London, Ont; two brothers, Bruno, of Windsor, and Arthur, New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Martin Bruer, Long Beach, Cal., Mrs. Harry Motchman, Waterloo, and Miss Erla Beger of London. The funeral will be held at Windsor this Friday afternoon, with service at First Lutheran Church, and interment in Victoria Memorial Park Cemetery. New Hamburg Independent, January 4, 1952
