    • THE COMMERCIAL HOTEL.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Hamburg, but very recently it has been re-built and so thoroughly overhauled that the individual who was familiar with it in the days of yore will scarcely recognize it now, except in name. Since it was partially destroyed by fire a new and extra story has been added, and as to general appearance will compare favorably with any hotel in the village to day. It is three stories high and contains twenty-nine bed rooms, ample sample rooms and other apartments necessary in a firstclass modern hotel, and is supplied throughout with electric lights and electric bells. It is convenient to the business center of the town and in every other way well adapted for the proper accommodation of the travelling public. It also affords plenty of shed and stable room. The most recent addition to this well known hostelry was a new landlord, this gentleman being Mr. Henry M. Henrich, who took charge on June 27, 1898. Mr. Henrich is a native of Waterloo, where he was born August 12, 1864 He was married to Miss Emma, daughter of the late Jonas Otto, who was a well known citizen of this section. They have two children. Since 1888, and prior to taking charge of the Commercial, Mr. Henrich conducted a barber shop. While in this capacity he acquired a wide acquaintance and a large patronage which will no doubt cling to him in his new calling The Commercial will certainly retain all its old time patronage, and from general indications now there is reason to believe that there will be a perceptible increase. The house throughout presents a neat and clean appearance, and in every way inviting to those who are required to seek the shelter of a hotel. Mr. Henrich is almost constantly on duty, consequently the wants of guests will not be neglected. The tables are always supplied with the best the market affords, and the bar with the most popular brands of liquors and cigars. Give the management a call.
