  Death of Mrs. McRuer - The death took place in South Dumfries on Wednesday, 21st, of an estimable early settler, in the person of Mrs. John McRuer, at the age of 70, years. Deceased, whose maiden name was Janet Drew, was born at La Chute, Quebec, and came to South Dumfries in 1866. She was a consistent member of Knox church, Ayr, and highly respected wherever known. Her husband and three sons and a daughter survive, one son, James having died 18 years ago. The living children are John in Blenheim, Willian in South Dumfries, Duncan, and Mrs. Janet Kingsburgh, the latter in Ayr. The funeral takes place tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. The Ayr News Dec 22 1904 pg 7 __________________ Died in South Dumfries, on Wednesday, December 21st 1904 Janet Drew, beloved wife of Mr. John McRuer aged 76 years. The funeral will take place from the residence of deceased's husband, Lot 34, Con. 6 South Dumfries on Friday Dec. 23, 1904 at 2 p. m. for Ayr Cemetery. Funeral Card
