      The death of Samuel Both occurred Saturday night at his home at 71 Short Street, Waterloo, in his 78th year. His death followed a lengthy illness.

      The deceased was born in Waterloo Township on April 5. 1866. He was faithful member of Emmanuel. Evangelical Church, and also a member of the men's adult Bible class of the Sunday school.

      In addition to his wife, the former Matilda Beam, one son and one daughter survive. They are W. M. Both, and Emma Both, of Waterloo. There are also two brothers, Fernando Both of Saskatoon. Sask., and William Both of Kitchener.

      Funeral services will be held from the late residence on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. Rev. G. F. Barthel of Emmanuel Church will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Remains are resting at the home.
