- Mrs. Amelia Myers
PRESTON\emdash Mrs. Amelia Myers, formerly of Preston, died in Woodstock General Hospital last night. She was 70. Mrs. Myers operated a news and tobacco shop on King street here for 25 years, until it was taken over by Edgar Drage in 1937. Native of New York City, she was brought to New Dundee as a child and spent most of her life in this district. She and her husband bought the Roos Tobacco store. Mr. Myers died in 1927 but Mrs. Myers and her daughter carried on the business until she sold out to Mr. Drage. Mrs. Myers attended St. Paul's United Church. Her death followed a long illness. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Clindie) Iredale, Woodstock; a brother, John Boehmer, Preston; a sister, Mrs. Charles Jones, Galt, and three grandchildren. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev. J. H. Herlihey. Interment will he made in the Preston Cemetery.
