    • Mr. and Mrs. Adam Sieling Pass Away Within Day of Each Other

      STRANGE COINCIDENCE

Occurrence Reported To Have Happened Before In Family Formerly of Hesson

Tragedy stalked through Elmira in a manner as strange as it was sorrowful last week, when death knocked at the door of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Selling on Erb street, and claimed both husband and wife within a day of each other.

The death of Mrs. Seiling occurred Thursday after a short illness. Friday morning her husband, whe had been in good health, had a premonition that he too was going to die and sent for a solicitor who drew his will. At noon he suddenly expired of heart failure. It is said that the death of husband and wife at the same time has been a characteristic of the family, the parents of the late Mr. Selling having also succumbed in this manner. The late Mr. Selling was 62 years of age and his wife was 65. Prior to retiring to Elmira, they resided on their farm near Hesson.

      Funeral Largely Attended

The late Mr. and Mrs. Sieling had been married for the past twenty- sight years and their three children predeceased them. They resided in Elmira for the past six years. The late Mrs. Sieling leaves to mourn her one sister and three brothers; Mrs. Fred Loder, Listowel, Harry Klockman and John Klockman of Linwood and Conrad Klockman of Stratford. The late Adam Sieling leaves to mourn his loss four brothers and one sister; Henry, Elmira; John, Moncton, George, British Columbia; Rudolph Brussess, and Louise Sieling, Linwood. The double funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'- clock from the late residence to St. James Lutheran Church for services Thence to the St. James' cemetery for burial. Rev. Mr. Kalbfieisch conducted the services. The funeral was very largely attended.
