    • Harry G. MarshallPRESTON, May 12., Harry G. Marshall, 78, prominent and respected resident of Preston for some 50 years, died suddenly, at his home, 438 Hamilton St.,yesterday. Word of his death was received with a sincere measure of regret by numerous friends formed in Preston and community through his many diversified forms of activity and participation in municipal, lodge and social affairs of the municipality. Confined to his home for the past two years, Mr. Marshall had, with the assistance of his wife, continued to transact his responsibilities as division court clerk. He was born in Dundee, Scotland. Prior to coming to Preston he lived in Shakespeare, London and Brantford. Mr. Marshall was employed with the Grand River Railway, Clare Bros. and the Car and Coach Co. For some years he acted as official relief officer for Preston and as division court clerk. He was also market clerk for some years. Holder of the 50-yearjewel in the 1.0.0.F. lodge, Mr. Marshall was past noble grand of Cambridge Lodge, Preston, past chief patriarch and past district deputy grand patriarch of Victory Encampment. He was a member of Preston Council for four years, one year as deputy reeve. He was a former secretary of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude von Ende; a son, H. Verne Marshall, of London; a sister, Mrs. A. W. Inglis, of Lethbridge, Alta. and two grandsons. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, where the funeral will take place, Saturday, at 3: 30 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
