- Police describe 17-year-old sought in woman's death as dangerous
ELMIRA '97 Waterloo Regional Police are searching for 17-year-old Kurtis (Kurt) Reichert after 57-year-old Elizabeth Alder was found dead Christmas Day in a house on Falcon Drive.
Normally, the identity of youths is not made public, but police obtained a judge's order in this case as officers appeal for help in finding Reichert.
Reichert is described as white, five-feet-ten, 140 pounds, with dirty blond curly hair. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket with fur around the hood, black track pants and a black Adidas knapsack. Police say Reichert is dangerous and should not be approached.
"We do have reasonable grounds to believe that Kurtis Reichert, who is 17 years of age, is responsible for that death," said Waterloo Regional Police Insp. Mike Haffner in an interview Tuesday afternoon on Falcon Drive.
"We don't know where Kurtis is now, and we are asking for the public's assistance in locating him," said Haffner.
After receiving a 911 call on Christmas Day, officers found Alder dead in a residence on Falcon Drive, a quiet residential street in this small town in the north end of Waterloo Region. Detectives went door to door Tuesday speaking with neighbours....
