      PRESTON— Charles E. Hunter, 72, of 1005 King St., Preston died Thursday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. Mr. Hunter was born in Galt and had lived most of his life in Preston. He had been employed for many years at Galt Brass Co. Ltd. and in later years at Kralinator Filters. Ltd. in Preston. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was a veteran of the First World War. He served overseas for four years as sergeant with the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Surviving are his wife the former Hilda Sandilands; one son, Reginald F. of Kitchener: two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Bertha) Cook and Mrs. Kenneth (Vera) Rabethge, both of Kitchener, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Florence Pearce in 1942 and also by one son, Charles E. Jr. in the Second World War. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home where service will be conducted Sunday at 2: 30 p.m. Committal service will be in Preston Park Lawn chapel.
