  Mrs. Margaret Borst Mrs. Margaret Borst (Margaret Diamond) widow of Ernest Borst died Oct. 31 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Hottum 26842 Horfolk Inster, Mich. She is survived by seven children. Mrs. Frank Klemezewski, Detroit, William Arntfield, Dearborn, John Arntfield, London, Ontario, Mrs. J. C. Hottum, Inster, Mrs. Victor Schomer, Hazel Park, Mrs. Maitland Wilson, Long Rapids and Charles Borst, Hazel Park, 28 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren a sister Mrs. James N. Gillis of Ridgetown, Ontario. and two brothers Robert Reid of Cadillac and James Diamond of Hillman. Funeral services will be from her home in Long Rapids, Wednesday at 2 p. m. and at Long Rapids Community church. at 2.30. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. 1aAlpena News 1 Nov 1943 ___________________ I did find out more about her parents on ancestry. Her mother is Catherine Groves (Reid) b. 5/28/1835 in Ireland, d/o Robert Groves who immigrated to Hastings in 1845. Catherine's first husband was Benjamin Reid. I haven't found anything about him. 2nd husband was Sanford (Diamond/Dimond/Deamond) b.11/11/1821 d. 2/22/1906, Muirkirk, Kent, Ontario. I found three different Canadian census with 3 different spellings. Sanford & Catherine were married 1/8/1863, St. Thomas Angelican Church, Belleville, Thurlow Twship, Hastings, Ontario. Sanford's 1st wife was Mary B. Salisbury. They were married at the same church in 1844. Sanford had 5 children with each wife. Both Sanford & Catherine are buried at Durat Cemetery in Kent County.
