  DEATH OF C. G. ROOS IN PRESTON. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon of Mr. Charles G. Roos, who died on Sunday evening. The burial ceremonies were in charge of the A. O. U. W. The deceased had been ailing for about two years. His medical attendant diagnosed his trouble of late as being caused by appendicitis and patient finally decided to go to the hospital on Wednesday last to be operated upon for that disease. The operation revealed a hopeless condition and the state of the patient gradually grew more serious until death ensued. Deceased, who was in his 63rd year, was born in Preston, where he resided nearly all his life, with the exception of about a year and a half, when he engaged in the retail business in Guelph, He then came to Preston, where he successfully conducted a grocery business at the "North End" until April 18th last, when he disposed of the business to Fred Grobe. Just 41 years ago last Monday deceased was wedded to Dorothy Stepler, who, with two adopted children, Miss Mamie Roos and Mrs. Fred Grobe, are left to mourn his loss.
