      ______________________

Death of Mr. George Good - There passed away on Friday evening at his late home, corner Spring and Queen Streets, one of St. Jacobs' most highly esteemed and pioneer residents, Mr. George Good the well-known village blacksmith. Mr. Good came to this place about 40 years ago and through his upright dealing and genial manner made many warm friends. The funeral, which was held on Monday afternoon, from his late residence to the Evangelical Cemetery, was one of the largest held in this section for a number of years. Rev. W.O. Hehn assisted by Rev. Mr. Schmidt, of Berlin conducted the services. The church was filled, many not being able to gain admittance. The bereaved family, have the heart-felt sympathy of a wide circle of friends. Of the family the following are left to mourn the loss of a king and affectionate father and husband: - a sorrowing widow, a daughter, Miss Elsie, at home; Sylvester and Oscar, St. Jacobs; John Teeswater; and Israel, Regina; also two brothers, Joseph of Didsbury, and Jacob of Berlin. Mr. Good was 62 years of age and had been ill for some time, although only confined to this bed for a few weeks previous to his death. This summer he spent a couple of months in the Northwest, but the change only had the desired effect for a short time. When he felt his old trouble coming on again he hurried home to only survive a couple of months.
