Notes |
- A VERY SUDDEN DEATH
Still another aged and respected resident of our village, has gone to his last account, death coming to him very suddenly. On Monday morning about 7.30 o'clock. Mr. Christian Homuth left his house to go to Dr. Duck's, as he was not feeling very well. When in front of Mr. Hamacher's house, he was taken with a stroke of apoplexy and fell to the sidewalk, The first to discover him was little Nellie Hoffman, who came across the school field. He was on his hands and knees trying to get up. Mr. Emil Homuth came along and carried him down to Maecker's shoe store, where he was laid on the counter, a second stroke ensued soon after and he became insensible. He was carried home from there on a lounge, but never regained consciousness, dying in about an hour from the first stroke.
