- WINTER
CORONACH (Special) - Funeral service for Edwin Ambrose Winter, 79, a pioneer of this district, was held in Coronach United Church with Rev. Russell Clark officiating, assisted by Pastor T. Throndson. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Ross Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Ontario, he came to the Pretty Valley district in 1908. He married Mabel Berge in 1916.
Mr. Winter was secretary treasurer of Hart Butte municipality until 1958. He was a Wheat Pool delegate for a number of years; secretary of the High Crest School District; a charter member of the Co-operative Association Ltd. and Credit Union, He took part in agricultural society programs as a promoter for the Canadian Pacific Railway extension from Assiniboia to Big Beaver and was a car dealer in Coronach.
Predeceased by an infant child, he is survived by his wife; five sons, Charlie, Hubert, Thomas, Walter and James, all of Coronach; two daughters, Mrs. George Fox of Estevan and Mrs. Art C. Vonars of British Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Adel May Winter of Vancouver
