    • Mrs. Charles Clare

      Death removed from Preston one of most highly respected citizens of the community in the person of Salome Roos, relict of the late Charles Clare. The late Mrs. Clare had been in poor health for some time prior to her demise and was in her eightieth year. A member of one of Prestons pioneer families, Mrs. Clare was born in Preston and lived here all her life, cultivating a very large circle of friends who held her in highest esteem. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church and up to the time she failed in health, was an active worker in church organizations. Besides a sister in New York and two in Toronto, she leaves to mourn loss the following children: Herbert, Herman. Mrs. W. J. Krueger and Maude of Preston; Norman of Toronto; Carl of Portage la and Prairie: Mrs. Mrs. G. P. Moe Vancouver, Weller of Machias, Maine. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from her late residence, 338 Hamilton street to the Preston cemetery.
