    • Mrs. Euphemia Monteith

      The funeral of Euphemia Mac Kersie, wife of Robert Monteith, of Winnipeg, and who passed away at the Toronto general hospital on Friday morning. Sept. 9, in her 79th year, was held from Speers and Herman's undertaking parlors yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, internment being in Preston cemetery. Rev. A. O. Foreman, of the United Church, conducted the services and Indication of the high regard with which the deceased was held by those who knew her, was seen in the many, beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were Messrs, Thomas Porker, Fred Pelz, Ernest Hall, Andrew Spalding, Wm, Reids, and Wm. Zinnall of Preston.

      The late Mrs. Monteith, before her marriage to Robert Monteith, of Winnipeg, was the wife of James Howell of Preston, whose death occurred some thirty-three years ago, and the then Mrs. Howell was well known in Preston, having resided here for thirty-five or forty years. Besides her husband her death is mourned by two sons Charles and Milton Howell of Toronto, and one brother, William MacKersie, of Wingham. Her only daughter. Wife of Mr. Joseph Rosenberger, Waterloo street, predeceased her eight years ago. A large number of friends and relatives were present at the funeral.
