Notes |
- William Simpson, cabinet-maker of Hamilton, came here in 1856 to manage Enoch Ziegler's east-end furniture factory. Within a few months he and Menno Eby bought the factory. Afterward Mr. Eby withdrew, when James Potter and D. S. Shoemaker entered into partnership with Mr. Simpson. Some of their furniture was in use for fifty years. Time elapsed. Mr. Simpson and John Aldous then purchased Mr. Potter's and Mr. Shoemaker's interest and traded as Simpson & Co.
