- FATALITY AT SHODDY MILLS
AUGUST HANNEBERG WAS IN- STANTLY KILLED ON SATUR- DAY BY BEING STRUCK BY A BROKEN PIECE OF WHEEL.
(From Saturday's extra edition.)
A fatal accident occurred in Waterloo this o'clock. afternoon about 1.30
Mr. August Hannenberg, an employe at the Waterloo Shoddy Mills, was instantly killed while operating a picking machine in that establishment.
While the machine was in full motion the tire of one of the wheels broke and pieces flew in all directions, one of which struck the unfortunate man on the head, crushing his brain to a pulp.
He died almost instantly, and apparently never knew what struck him.
Mr. Hannenberg had been an employe at the mills for nearly three years and was considered a very competent workman.
The deceased was about 55 years of age, and lived near the Greenbush.
He leaves a widow and a family of six children to mourn his sudden and untimely death.
