    • DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT.

      Mr. James Simpson of Doon, years ago foreman of the Doon Twine and Cordage Co. and who has lived in Doon since he came from England in 1856, died yesterday at 2.80. Deceased was in his 89th vear, and leaves a wife, two sons, Thomas of Preston and John of Gait, and a daughter in Michigan. He was highly respected and the communitv will feel the loss keenly.

      The funeral will be held from his late residence tomorrow, Feb, 4th, and the body will be interred in noon cemetery.
